The Architecture of Self-Determination
Somali Dreams exists to dismantle the colonial legacy of aid and ignite a sovereign renaissance.
We believe:
1. Ownership is Liberation
True power lies not in receiving, but in creating. We reject charity’s broken promise – replacing it with equity, skills exchange, and communal stewardship. When Somalis own the farms, tech hubs, and schools, we own our future.
2. Diaspora is the Keystone
Scattered across oceans but bound by ‘Soomaalinimo’ (Somaliness), we channel our expertise, capital, and love for the homeland into bricks-and-mortar change. This is ‘dhaqancelis’– cultural revival through shared labour.
3. Transparency is Sacred
Trust flows where every action is visible. We pledge radical openness: from project selection to impact trails – because sunlight is the best architect.
4. Two Lands, One Dream & the Diaspora
Beyond flags or borders, we build for all who claim Somali soil. Prosperity cannot be partitioned.
5. Poetry in Action
Our ancestors spun nations from words. We honour that tradition by weaving gabay (poetry) into venture blueprints – where every solar panel hums a verse, and every coded line rhymes with resilience.
This is nation-building as it was always meant to be: by our hands, on our terms.
